CDAS 1st Annual General Meeting (27 Oct 2018)

TO ALL MEMBERS OF CDAS Dear Members NOTICE OF 1st ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING As you may be aware, CDAS was registered on 24 Feb 2018. The Pro-tem Committee consisting of 10 Founding Members has been looking after the management and affairs of the Association from that date. Under Article 14.4 a First Annual General Meeting must be held within 6 months after the approval of the registration of the Association by the Registrar of Societies. Although we are a little late in holding this meeting, we are now sending you the Notice of 1st Annual General Meeting to members to formally and constitutionally elect your Council as well as the position of Honorary Auditors. In this regard the following documents are attached herewith: 1. Notice of 1st Annual General Meeting 2. Nomination Form 3. Proxy Form 4. What are the objectives of CDAS?

The aims and objects of the Association are as follows:

  • To promote the professional development and status of career development practitioners in Singapore.

  • To serve as a common platform for all career development practitioners to foster professionalism and professional education and increase professional identity of practitioners.

  • To be the voice of career practitioners in Singapore and to represent the interests of practitioners from any setting.

  • To provide a body of research knowledge with regards to career development.

  • To become the representative association for career practitioners in Singapore.

  • To be affiliated with international organisations in career development.

How is CDAS set up?

CDAS is an association gazetted under The Societies Act on 24th February 2018. The Association is known as the Career Development Association of Singapore (CDAS)

What is the difference between CDAS and other career association in the region?

Every association has its purpose to meet its member’s needs. CDAS is set up to promote the professional development and status of career development practitioners for its members in Singapore. Its direction is driven by its members under the guidance of its constitution. CDAS members are governed by its own code of ethics

Who can become a member?

CDAS recognizes that its members:

  • Work in a variety of career-related settings,

  • Carry a range of positions and titles, and

  • Are responsible for different career-related roles and services.

CDAS also recognizes that its members have entered the field of careers through multiple pathways to take up the roles in career development, guidance, and services. These individuals may have or will pursue the training in the career speciality (e.g., Facilitating Career Development (FCD) training, Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification, Advanced Certificate in Career Development Facilitation, Specialist Diploma in Career Counselling, Graduate Diploma in I/O Psychology, Job and Career Transition Coach (JCTC), etc.), or any career development-related training before or after their entry to the field of careers. CDAS welcomes all these practitioners and professionals and treat them equally regardless of their work settings, positions, roles, type(s) of services, pathways for their entry to the field, and type(s) and level(s) of credentials as well as qualifications.
