Sam Chia
Sam Chia is the Founder of SC Coaching Asia Pte Ltd. He has over 25 years’ experience as an international business leader, executive and career coach, consultant, and facilitator.
Sam was formerly the Vice President and Managing Director of subsidiaries of the global listed company. He had profit and loss responsibility for their specialty chemicals business across China, Southeast Asia, and India.
Sam began his career as a Chartered Certified Accountant. He is a Fellow member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from University of Bath, United Kingdom.
Sam had resided in China, Singapore, and Malaysia and had built and led successful diversified teams across Asia during his tenure as a regional business leader.
Sam embarked on his consulting and coaching career after taking up the role of Managing Director of a regional human resource practice specializing in leadership and organization development. In his work, Sam applies insights using assessment technology, positive psychology, action learning, coaching and blended learning to help leaders expand their personal performance and organizational capabilities.
Sam is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with International Coach Federation, Certified Coach with Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, and Certified Solution Focused Coach with Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC) and received a Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School (HBS), University of Reading, UK. He is also certified in Job and Transition Coach from Career Planning and Adult Development Network, US. He supports individual especially PMET to navigate, transit and grow in their career through career coaching
With his passion in coaching, Sam has co-edited a book in 2010, “Coaching in Asia: The First Decade” together with a team of coaches from International Coaching Federation to create coaching awareness and to share coaching experience in Asia. He has also contributed articles on leadership and coaching to The Straits Times, Human Resources Magazine and Caregiverasia.com. Sam is recently recognized as 100 Best Global Coaching Leaders by CHRO Asia/ World Coaching Congress in 2017.
